Pandora's Box bespoke 14ft floating trader butty barge
More Display Space. More Possibility.

A Compact Floating Trader Built Around the Business

Pandora's Box was created for the operators of the 50ft narrowboat Imogen, who needed more room for a floating trade selling unusual gifts and art.

Rather than replacing the existing narrowboat, Rosethorn built a bespoke 14ft butty. The additional craft created a distinctive trading space while allowing Imogen to remain at the centre of life and travel on the canal network.

As the name suggests, Pandora's Box is filled with magical and mysterious gifts and can be found at floating festivals around the canal network.

More Space Without Replacing the Boat

Pandora's Box demonstrates how a focused additional craft can solve a business-space problem while preserving an existing narrowboat and waterside lifestyle.
Floating trader

The Need

The 50ft narrowboat supported life on the canal, but the floating trade needed additional room for stock, display and customer-facing activity.

Bespoke design

The Solution

Keep the existing narrowboat and add a bespoke 14ft butty, designed and internally fitted around a clearly defined floating-trade use.

More display space

The Result

A memorable trading space for unusual gifts and art that travels with Imogen to floating festivals across the canal network.
